Common Questions
Everything you need to know before purchasing.
What if it's cloudy my entire stay?
Weather is unpredictable in the Arctic. We monitor continuously, but cloud cover may prevent visibility. Our service is about maximizing your chances, you'll know the instant conditions are favorable, rather than guessing or wasting hours outside in the cold.
How is this different from aurora forecast apps?
Apps like "My Aurora Forecast" use solar wind predictions. We use actual camera verification from professional weather cameras at UiT. Think of it as the difference between a weather forecast and looking out the window.
Will I get spam messages?
No. Maximum one alert per hour, only during prime viewing hours (6 PM – 12 AM). Your phone number is automatically deleted 48 hours after your pass expires. We never use it for marketing.
What if I'm not in Tromsø city center?
Our cameras are in Breivika, approximately 5 km from Tromsø center. Aurora visibility is regional, if it's visible on our cameras, you'll likely see it within a 50 km radius, assuming clear skies at your location.
What happens after my 5 days expire?
Your alerts stop automatically. No recurring charges, no subscription to cancel. Your phone number is purged from our system within 48 hours. If you want more time, simply purchase a new pass.
